Question:

How to enable media sharing service on my PC?

Answer:

If the media sharing service is disabled on the PC then you will not be able to stream from any DLNA server. You would still be able to file share between computers but not stream media. To enable the media sharing service on your PC follow these steps.

Open the control panel on the PC.

In classic view, double click "Administrative Tools"

    Double Click "Services"

Scroll Down and double click "Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service" [A popup window will appear]

Look at the "Startup Type" this should be set to Automatic.

Look at the "Service Status" This should be "Started".

If the setup looks like the image below sharing is disabled and the computer will not share the media on the computer.

To enable sharing set startup to "Automatic" and click "Apply" and then click "Start". [a progress bar will appear]. Click "Ok" to exit.
