Question:
How to
connect and optimize my Samsung TV as a computer monitor for my Windows PC?
Answer:
Starting and
Using Your TV
With Your Windows Computer
All computer
compatible Samsung TVs are Plug and Play compatible. This means that your Windows
PC
system automatically detects and configures itself to display on your Samsung
TV. You do not need to install additional drivers.
Note:
Samsung does not make or supply installable drivers for its TVs. The
TVs use the default drivers provided in Windows.
To use your TV
with your computer, follow these steps:
- Turn on
your PC.
Important:
On some Samsung TVs, if you don't have the PC on, the TV will automatically
shut down when you switch the source to PC or Computer. Also, on some TVs,
if you don't have the PC on, the PC Source will be grayed out on the menu
and you will not be able to select it.
- Turn on your
TV.
- Press the
Source button on your remote or on the front panel of your TV to select
PC.
- Adjust the
display if necessary using the Windows Display dialog which can be accessed
through the Control Panel. See below.
Adjusting the
Size of the Screen in Digital and Analog Mode in Windows
If the screen
image is either too large or too small, most likely you need to set your computer display
to the optimum resolution and/or optimum refresh rate (vertical frequency) for
your TV.
To set the optimum
resolution and/or refresh rate, follow these steps:

Important
1: The Optimum Resolution for your LCD TV may be different from the
Optimum Resolution displayed in Step 4 above. See the PC Display
section of your User's Manual for the exact value. The Optimum Refresh Rate
for all Samsung TVs is 60 Hz.
Important
2: Appearance and Themes may not exist in your Control Panel.
If that is the case, you should be able to click Display directly.
Computer Picture
Quality Adjustment in Analog Mode
Many current
Samsung TVs that can be used as a computer monitor have an Auto Adjust function
that automatically adjusts the computer video signal the TV receives, fine-tunes
the settings, adjusts the vertical and horizontal frequency values, and adjusts
the picture position.
To use the Auto
Adjust function on most current Samsung TVs, follow the steps below:
