To begin troubleshooting follow the steps below:

1. Have your television set to the HDMI input and powered on. Have your laptop powered off.
2. Power on your laptop. While your laptop is booting up you should be able to see the laptop's splash screen.

Note: Your laptop will display what is called a splash screen while booting, before loading windows. The splash screen can either be the manufacturers logo or system text. Examples of a splash screen are below.
