Subject:  Dead Pixel Policy

What Samsung does about an LED TV with a dead pixel depends on:

  • The number of dead pixels
  • The location of the dead pixels
  • The color of the dead pixels
  • The size of the LED TV screen

The chart below describes the Samsung dead pixel policy by screen size.

If a TV is in warranty, has dead pixels, and meets the requirements described in the chart, Samsung will repair the TV in warranty by replacing the screen.

Reading the Dead Pixel Policy Chart

Reading this chart is very straight forward.  For example, if a customer has an in warranty 17 inch TV with dead pixels and there are:

  • Two or more randomly located bright pixels or
  • One or more pairs of bright pixels located side by side or
  • Five or more randomly located dark pixels or
  • One or more pairs of dark pixels located side by side or
  • More than five bright or dark pixels

Samsung will repair the TV in warranty by replacing the screen.

Important: Different sized sets have different requirements. See the chart.
