Subject:  What Is Auto Motion Plus?

Answer:

Auto Motion Plus (AMP) intelligently creates and then inserts extra frames (interpolates) into the series of frames that make up the picture you see, helping to eliminate jutter between frames.

The illustration below demonstrates how Auto Motion Plus works. Frame A and Frame B are the original frames from the incoming signal.

AMP intelligently creates a new frame based on Frame A and Frame B, and then inserts the frame between the two original frames.

This process creates a non-repetitive transition from one frame to the next and virtually eliminates motion blur.

AMP has four settings: High, Med, Low, and Off.

When you set AMP to one of these four settings, you change how your TV interpolates frames.

When you set AMP to Off, you turn off the interpolation function.

The TV continues to process video at 120 Hz.

The setting you choose for AMP depends on the program you are watching. See the chart below.

By following the recommendations in this chart, you substantially decrease the possibility that your TV will over process the picture and produce extra jutter.
