Question:
How
do I teach the Samsung Touch screen remote to learn IR commands?
Answer:
Subject: Learning
IR Commands
The
Samsung Touch screen remote has the ability to learn IR commands.
This is useful
for if you have a device that does not have a code set pre-programmed into the
remote, or a few buttons on the remote are not sending the correct IR code.
To teach IR command to the remote you will need the devices original remote.
Tip:
Because the Touch Screen remote will need to receive the IR command from the
external devices remote you will need to try and reduce any IR interference
by turning off lights and avoiding direct sunlight.
If the touch screen remote
is still having a problem receiving the IR command you may need to use some
thing to block outside light, like in the example below.

Important:
To
learn codes you will first need to add a device to the touch remote.
- In
the add remote screen tap "Learn"
- An
Instructional message will pop-up explaining how to teach the remote. Tap
Ok to continue.
- The
usual remote control screen will appear after this. Buttons that have not
been learned will be in gray. In this example we are programming a set-top-box
so the first screen that appears is the number pad. You can navigate
to any other remote screen by tapping on Navigation, Vol/CH, or swiping
to the other screens.
- Aim
the original remote at the IR receiver located in the lower left corner
of the touch remote. Keep the two remotes apart by about 1 inch.
