Subject:  Closed Captioning

Closed Captioning (CC) is a feature designed to show text on your television screen.

This text can provide additional information, interpretation, or transcription for the audio dialogue of a program including non-speech elements.

The CC feature recieves the CC signal from the broadcaster or program.

If there is no CC signal the TV will not display closed captioning even if the feature is turned on.

To turn on the CC feature follow these steps.

  1. With your TV turned on press the MENU button to open the Main Menu.
  1. Use the up or down arrow button to select the "Setup" section of the main menu.
  2. Note: The section names are found on the left side of the screen and sideways.

  1. Use the up or down arrow button to select the "Caption" option in the Setup Menu, and then press ENTER.
  2. Important: If the "Caption" option is greyed out skip to the bottom of the page for further troubleshooting or click here.

  1. The Caption Sub Menu will appear with caption highlighted, press ENTER.
  1. A drop down menu will appear with the options for "On" and "Off". Use the up or down arrow button to select "On" and then press ENTER.
  1. The Closed Captioning feature will now be turned on. Now whenever a program is carrying a CC signal the TV will display the text on the screen. Press EXIT to exit the Main Menu.
