Question:
How
does Samsung TV's picture calibration work?
Answer:
Picture Calibrations
Samsung TV's allow
you to manually adjust the different aspects of the picture for each pictures
mode.
All of these settings can be uniquely set for each source.
For
Example:
If you have a Blu-ray connected to HDMI 2 and in the Standard picture mode and
make adjustments to the color, brightness, etc. they will not affect the Standard
picture mode settings on any other input.
This allows you to customize each
input to your personal preference and not have to worry that changing setting
will affect the picture on other inputs.
Some adjustments that
may be available on your TV:
Adjustment
|
Affect
|
Brightness
|
This
adjustment affects what the TV displays black as and consequently
will change darkness of every other color displayed on the TV.
Setting this adjustment too low will cause the picture too be dark
and loose detail. Setting this adjustment too high will set the
black color to high and all black will look gray which again will
affect all colors displayed on the TV.
|
Contrast
|
This
adjusts the lumens of the picture or the white brightness level and
consequently changes the brightness of all the colors. Setting this
adjustment too low will cause the picture to become to dark to make
out details. Setting this adjustment to high will cause all the
colors to become very light and washed out.
|
Sharpness
|
This
adjustment enhances the distinction between colors on the screen.
Adjusting this setting to low can cause the line distinction or images
to look to "soft" or blurred. Setting this adjustment
too high will exaggerate the distinctions and cause the images
on the screen to look separated or artificial.
|
Color
|
This
adjustment adjusts the color intensity. Setting this adjustment
too high will cause the colors to be too "Loud" and artificial
looking. Setting this adjustment too low will cause the colors to
be muted or black and white.
|
Tint
|
This
adjustment affects all the colors on the TV by changing the saturation
of the green or red primary colors. Adjusting this too much in either
way will make the screen entirely Green or entirely Red.
