Question:
How
to stop the InfoLink service from automatically attempting to connect to the
internet?
Answer:
When
you turn your television on, InfoLink starts by default and tries to connect
to the on-line InfoLink service.
If your television is not connected to the
Internet, it fails. When it fails, the TV gives you the option to retry or cancel.
To
change the default setting and prevent InfoLink from starting automatically
and trying to connect to the Internet, follow these steps:
- Allow
InfoLink to try to connect.
- After
it fails, select Cancel using your remote. The InfoLink box appears in the
top left portion of the screen and defaults to the Setup portion.

- Press the
ENTER button on your remote. Auto Launch is highlighted.
- Press
ENTER again.
- Use
the up or down arrow key to select "Off", and then press ENTER.

- Press
EXIT.
With
Auto Launch deactivated, InfoLink should no longer start automatically.
To
confirm that you have turned off Auto Launch, turn off your TV, wait thirty
seconds, and then power it back on.
The InfoLink feature should not launch.
In addition, it should only launch and try to connect to the Internet when you
press the INFO.L button on your remote.
