Question:
What
is BD Wise and how does it affect my TV's performance? How do I enable/disable
it?
Answer:
The
BD Wise is a feature that is used when connecting to an external device with
HDMI that also has the BD Wise feature. Before the external device sends a video
signal the BD Wise feature will have the two devices "talk" to each
other and they will determine the highest resolution that the content can be
played at and which video scaler the two device will use, either the one in
the TV or the one in the external device. Then one of the scaler will be bypassed
and the video will play. Bypassing one of the scaler will enhance the video
playback.
Note:
Sometimes when this features is attempting to communicate depending on the length
of the cable and other factors this "Talk" time may become to long
and the time out. If this happens the TV may display "Mode not Supported"
or no picture at all. If this happens set this feature to off, or replace your
HDMI cable.
