Question:

How do I access and use the various 3D menu options on my television?

Answer:

Subject:  3D

To access the 3D menu options, press the MENU button, navigate to Picture, and then 3D.

The available options in the 3D menu are:

  • 3D Mode - Selecting a 3D mode will turn the 3D feature of the TV on. The 3D mode is determined by the source you are using.
    • If you are converting a 2D source to 3D, choose the first mode (2D > 3D mode).

Note: If you are unsure which 3D mode to use, contact the manufacturer of your 3D device (Cable Box, BluRay Player, etc...).

  • 3D > 2D - Converts a 3D source to 2D. This option cannot be selected when the 3D mode is set to 2D > 3D or Off.
  • Depth - Determines how many layers are shown in 3D mode. Increasing the depth will increase the effectiveness of 2D → 3D mode.
    • This option can only be selected when the 3D Mode is set to 2D > 3D.
  • View Point - Determines how many layers are shown in 3D mode.
    • Increasing the View Point will increase the 3D Effect.
    • This option can only be selected when you are displaying a true 3D image.
  • Picture Correction - Switches the image shown for the left and right eye.
  • 3D Optimize - This function adjust the 3D process based upon the tempurature of the panel.
    • If the TV is not running at its average running tempurature (95° F) the 3D image may have ghosting.
    • To help the TV calibrate for the tempurature of the panel this can be adjusted +1 or -1 depending on if the TV is under or over the average running tempurature of the TV.
  • 3D Auto View - When 3D Auto View is set to On, if a 3D source is detected, the TV will automatically switch to 3D mode.
