Question:

What is Gamma and how does it affect color intensity?

Answer:

Subject:  Gamma

Gamma affects the intensity of the overall color. It does this by raising, or lowering, the hue of the primary color spectrum.

Adjusting this options will affect the reproduction of dark and bright colors.

If the gamma is set too low it will cause the blacks to "crush" or be darker than they should be.

If the gamma is too set high the more washed out the colors will look.
