What does the clicking sound from my TV mean?

TV Clicks When Powered On Or Off

At certain times, it is normal for a TV to make a clicking sound, such as when you turn it on after a long period of inactivity or sometimes when you turn it off.  

If you hear a clicking sound and your TV is operating normally, there is nothing to be concerned about.

However, if your TV clicks one or more times and operates abnormally, most likely your TV is malfunctioning.  

Abnormal operation includes, but is not limited to, the following symptoms:

• Powering off immediately after powering on.
• Intermittently powering off.
• Powering on by itself.
• Constantly powering on and off automatically.
• Not powering on.
• Displaying a flashing standby light.
  
  

If your TV exhibits any of the symptoms listed above and clicks, your TV requires service.
