Question:

How can I check if my LED TV has an hourglass picture issue?

Answer:

If the picture on your LED TV looks like an hourglass, you may need to get the TV serviced. To verify the issue is caused by your TV and not your source device (DVD player, cable box, etc.), perform a Self Diagnosis test. To perform a self test, follow these steps:

  1. Turn the TV on.
  2. Press MENU on the TV remote, or on the TV itself.
  3. Use the ▲ or ▼ arrow to select the Support section of the menu, then press ENTER.
  4. Note: The Sub-Menu's name is displayed on the left side of the screen.

  5. Use the ▲ or ▼ arrow to select the Self Diagnosis option, then press ENTER.
  6. The Self Diagnosis menu will appear and be defaulted to the Picture Test. Press ENTER.
  1. A picture will appear on the screen and the option to select Yes or No.
    • If the problem still occurs use the ◀ or ▶ arrow to select Yes and press ENTER, then follow the onscreen instruction
    • If the problem does not occur press ENTER to select No, then follow the onscreen instructions.
