Question:

Why is my TV randomly changing sources, channels, or volume? What steps should I take to fix it?

Answer:

If the TV is constantly changing the source, channel, or volume there could be a problem with the remote control or touch panel on the TV. Follow these steps.

  1. Remove the batteries from your remote control.
  2. With the TV powered on unplug the TV from the wall outlet.
  1. While the TV is unplugged use a microfiber cloth to wipe down the touch controls on the bezel of the TV.
  2. Plug the TV back in and using the touch controls turn the TV back on.
    • If the TV continues to behavior abnormally then it will require service. Click on the "Create Online Service Request" button below to begin the service process.
    • If the problem does not continue proceed to Step 5.
  1. Re-insert the batteries in the remote control and test functionality.
    • If the abnormal behavior begins again there is a problem with your remote and it will need to be replaced. Click on the "Create Online Service Request" button below to begin the service process.
    • If the problem does not continue there may have been a glitch in the TV or the Remote that has now been cleared. If the problem arises again service will be needed to permanently resolve this issue.
