Question:

How to troubleshoot 3D glasses issues?

Answer:

If the 3D glasses are not functioning properly, follow these steps to determine if the problem is related to the glasses or the TV:

Try theses steps first;

  1. Activate the 3D function on your TV by pressing the 3D button on your remote. You can tell the 3D function of the TV is activated properly when the screen appears slightly blurry without glasses. You can either use a 3D blu-ray player, a different 3D source, or the 2D>3D function of the TV to activate the 3D mode.
  2. 3D Feature Off

    3D Feature On

  1. For the rechargable glasses, they need to be worn to turn on due to the automatic On/Off feature. They may need to be paired, then worn after the 3D function of the TV is turned on. The battery operated glasses use the power button to turn on.
  2. Check the pairing between the TV and Glasses.
    • Reset pairing using the tv remote by pressing: Mute-0-Mute-0. If this is done while the TV is on, it will not give a prompt to say the action as been completed. Press the combination multiple times time make sure it takes in the TV.
    • Re-pair glasses to the TV after the pairing reset by holding down the pairing/power button on the glasses until the LED indicator light begins to flash greed/red, when your glasses LED idicator light flashes with alternating colors, this means the glasses are in Blu-tooth discovery mode. Place the glasses within pairing distance (usually within 8-12 inchs of the Samsung logo), the light will turn a solid green when the glasses have been sucessfully paired with the TV. The TV will give a message stating that "3D Glasses have been paired to the TV", click here for detailed instructions.
    • After a sucessfull pairing, use the 3D function again to test the functionality of the glasses.

Try a Different Pair of glasses

  1. If you do not have another pair of glasses, or the other pair of glasses does not function properly either, continue on to the next step.
  2. If another pair of 3D glasses works properly, then the original pair of glasses may be defective and may need service. If the 2nd pair of glasses does not function after follow the pairing procedures above, then your tv may need to be serviced. Either click on the "Create New Service" button to create a new service request, or contact 1-800-SAMSUNG for additional assistance.
