Question:

What are the requirements for picture files when using Media Play on my Samsung television?

Answer:

The picture files you use with Media Play must meet the following requirements:

  • The files must be in JPEG format. No tif files, .bmp files, etc.
  • The file names must be in English, French, or Spanish.
  • The folder and file names must contain only alphanumeric characters. Wiselink displays files with names that contain non-alphanumeric characters as “???”.
  • The JPEG resolution can be no larger than 15360 x 8640.

Other Considerations

  • If a filename is too long, Media Play displays the file name in the following format: “filename...+.jpg”.
  • We recommended using the sequential JPEG format. If you use the progressive JPEG mode, decoding may fail because progressive mode files require too much memory.
  • If sort key is set to Basic View, up to 1000 files can be displayed in each folder. The Other sort key can display up to 10000.
  • For unsupported or corrupt files, the 'Not Supported File Format' message is displayed.

Notes:

  • SAMSUNG is not responsible for any data file damage or data loss.
  • When your TV displays the loading icon, do not remove the USB device.
  • The higher the resolution of the image, the longer it takes to display.
