Question:

How to set the antenna for proper channel reception on my Samsung TV when using a cable company, antenna, or satellite box?

 

Answer:

If the TV's antenna is set to CABLE (STD, HRC, or IRC) and you have an antenna or satellite box or if you had an antenna or satellite box and you have replaced it with a cable company, you may not be able to get the signal to come in properly on some or all of your channels.

To get you channels to come in properly you must set the antenna correctly.

  • For Cable Companins the antenna must be set to "Cable"
  • For Satellite and Over-The-Air antennas the TV's antenna must be set to "Air

To set you signal source to, follow these steps:

  1. Using your Samsung television remote, power the TV on.
  2. Set the TV to the Coax (RF) source by pressing the TV button on your TV's remote, it will be labled TV in the source list, and then press MENU.
  3. Press the ? arrow to highlight Channel, and then press ENTER.
  4. Note: The sub-menu's name will be displayed on the left side of the screen.

  1. Antenna will be highlighted, press ENTER on Antenna.
  2. Use the ? or ? arrow to highlight the correct source, and then press ENTER.
  3. Press EXIT to return to watching TV.
  4. Note: You may need to preform and Autoprogram to recieve all your chanels. for instructions on preforming this click here.
