Question:

How to fix the picture quality issues after buying a new 120Hz or 240Hz TV?

Answer:

After purchasing a new 120Hz or 240Hz TV it is common for many people that the picture looks too smooth, too real, too clear, swimmy, or like a soap opera. There are two reasons for this:

  1. The new type of scanning looks different then your standard TV.
  2. The AMP (Auto Motion Plus) setting is set too high for the content.

Although there is nothing wrong with the TV or the automotion plus feature you may still think the picture looks "Off". To resolve this you can:

  • Turn the AMP feature to off.
  • Create a custom AMP setting that you prefer.

This will allow you to watch the TV in a format you will be more comfortable with. You may see a benefit to turning on or off the AMP feature for different program viewing, this is all a personal preference.
