Subject:  How to Set Up Your Samsung TV To Get The Best Picture From A Samsung 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray Player

  1. Connect an HDMI Hi-Speed cable from the HDMI MAIN output of the player directly to any of the 4 HDMI inputs of the Samsung UHD TV.
    • To provide audio to a home theatre receiver connect a second HDMI cable from player’s HDMI SUB (audio only) output to the HDMI input of the receiver.
  2. HDR is supported on all 2016 picture modes including DYNAMIC, STANDARD, NATURAL and MOVIE picture modes.  For 2015, HDR is only supported on DYNAMIC and MOVIE picture modes only.
  3. IMPORTANT:  Go to the UHD TV MENU and select PICTURE
    • Scroll down to PICTURE OPTIONS and select
    • Scroll down to HDMI UHD Color and select the HDMI input the 4K UHD Blu-ray player is connected to.
    • From the drop down menu select ON
    • The TV will turn off and restart automatically
    •  

Other recommended settings in the PICTURE MENU

 

  1. From the PICTURE OPTIONS menu scroll down to Smart LED and select HIGH from the drop down menu.
  2. From the ADVANCED SETTINGS menu scroll down to Colour Space and select AUTO from the drop down menu.

 

2013:  None of the Samsung models support HDCP 2.2.  A One Connect Evolution Kit SEK-3500 will be required to support HDCP 2.2 and full 4K resolution playback on all 4 HDMI inputs.

2014:  All Samsung UHD models support HDCP 2.2 and 4K resolution on HDMI (MHL) only.  All 4 inputs can be supported if the SEK-3500 One Connect Evolution Kit is added.

2015:  All Samsung UHD/SUHD models support HDCP 2.2 on all HDMI inputs.

2016:  All Samsung UHD/SUHD models support the HDCP 2.2 on all HDMI inputs.
