Call Guide

Subject:  Uneven Baklighting or Cloudiness

Symptom:

Customers may call in and complain that the screens on their LED TVs have a cloudy appearance in areas where the screens are displaying very dark colours or black.

Black is one of the hardest colours to produce, when the television attempts to display a black or dark screen.

However, this kind of inquiry is very case sensitive to each person and condition.

Someone may like a certain type of colour setting wheras another does not.

It also depends on the customer environment like where the TV is located and contents usually watched by the customer.

In order to appease each individual preference and derise, Samsung SMART TV offers the opportunity for customers to change the colour setting to their liking by changing the values from the Picture Menu.

Solution:

To decrease or eliminate clouding on the LED TV screen, go to MENU > Picture

Note that this issue can also be the result of video signal noise, and indicates that the video is not fully 'muted' (This will usually happen when the screen is all one colour, ie black or blue)

If this is the case, please conduct picture test to verify defect.

If shadows/clouds appear during picture test, then please issue service.
