Question:
How does the DLNA/AllShare feature work and
what are its limitations?
Answer:
The DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance)/AllShare
feature allows seamless media streaming between different DLNA certified devices,
such as computers, smartphones, and TVs. This integration enables easy sharing
and accessibility of content through a network connection. For instance, if
your computer is set up to share media with your TV, you can access and play
MP3 files stored on the computer without needing additional hardware like an
MP3 player or direct connection to a home theater system.
However, it's essential to note that although
numerous DLNA certified programs exist, Samsung only provides official support
and guarantees full functionality with their Samsung Link software. Additionally,
Samsung does not endorse nor support streaming from Network Attached Storage
(NAS) devices. While third-party software might enable this function, its usage
is not endorsed by Samsung.
