Subject:  Intermittent Wi-fi

For issues with an intermittent Wi-Fi connection check the following:

  1. Check to make sure the Ethernet cable from the modem to the router is not bent or broken. If it is, replace the cable.

  2. Check distance from the router. Move the access point and TV closer to each other. Samsung recommends having the TV and router no further than 50ft apart for consistant internet connection and speed.
  3. Ranges can vary based on:

    • Router being used.
    • Antenna built into router.
    • Other radio signals from devices such as cordless phones, Bluetooth, microwaves, radios, etc.
    • Construction material used in walls.
    • Etc.

    3.     Use a channel between 11-13, not 1 - 10.

    • If a dual band router is being used, make sure that the 2.4 ghz band is enabled.

    4.    Test TV with a wired connection to see if intermittent network issue still occurs.

    • If intermittent problems are still occurring the issue could be with the router or TV.
    • If the intermittent issues are no longer occurring there is an issue with the router handling wireless traffic. Please contact the router manufacturer for further assistance.

    5.    Bypass router and test TV connected directly to the modem or test TV on a different network.

    • If network issues continue the TV requires service.
    • If the network issues are no longer occurring, the issue is with the router handling wireless traffic. Please contact the router manufacturer for further assistance
