Rinse Aid Indicator Light Flashing [Rinse aid reservoir empty, Rinse aid refill displayed, Star blinking on control panel, Not washing or drying properly]

PROBLEM :

Rinse aid indicator flashing

SOLUTION :

Rinse aid improves the washing and drying performance of the dishwasher.

It helps eliminating watermarks and dry dishes faster.

When the rinse refill indicator light flashes on the control panel, it means it is running low.

Do not apply any type of detergent to the rinse aid compartment; otherwise, it will cause excess suds at the end of the cycle.

Do not over fill the compartment, excessive rinse aid may overflow during a cycle.

Only use liquid rinse aid, powdered rinse aid will clog the compartment opening and cause the dishwasher to malfunction.

Warning: There are some blue liquid detergents also available now and it is confusing, it looks like rinse aid.

If customer complains that suds are present at the end of the cycle, it means the rinse aid dispenser has detergent in it.

1.  Rise Aid Indicator: This symbol represents rinse aid and it'll flash continuously when the rinse aid level is low (this is not an error code, it's just a notification)

2.  Types of dispenser: There are two types of dispenser used on Samsung dishwashers (square and rectangular shape)

Older model dispenser

Newer model dispenser

3.  Rinse aid adjustment: If there's no manual adjustments on the rinse aid dispenser, it means that it can be adjusted in the settings (see user manual)

Dispenser with manual adjustments:

Dispenser with automatic adjustment, no manual adjustment:

Rinse Aid levels: F1 to F6 (F1 minimum, F6 Maximum, F3 Recommended)

4.  Dispenser lens: The rinse aid reservoir lens can also be used as a guide, when the reservoir is full, the lens will be the same color as the rinse aid, and when it's empty, it's clear and transparent.

Empty rinse aid reservoir (transparent lens)

5.  Guide to refill the rinse aid reservoir:

a)  Open the dishwasher door to the fully open position (horizontal position).

b)  Turn the dispenser knob counterclockwise or open the cover.

c)  Pour the liquid rinse aid into the dispenser opening until the rinse aid level reaches the full mark.

d)  Adjust the rinse aid dispenser's setting (if any). You can choose between 1 and 6.

e)  The larger the number, the larger the amount of rinse aid the dispenser releases. (The factory default is 3.)

f)  Close the dispenser cover and the rinse aid light should stop blinking shortly after.

Note: For the best results, use Finish Jet-Dry Turbo Dry.
