- Dishwasher Door Opens By Itself
PROBLEM 1: Dishwasher Door Opens By Itself
SOLUTION 1:
If your dishwasher door opens by itself at the end of a cycle, this is normal. Newer Samsung dishwashers have a feature called Autorelease door that automatically props open the door when a cycle completes.
Autorelease helps dry your dishes faster. Here's how it works:
- After the last rinsing portion, your dishwasher will start drying your dishes for 15 to 40 minutes.
- 3~15 minutes before the cycle is ended, the door of the dishwasher opens automatically and leaves a 5-inch gap.

- When the door is closed, the dishwasher evaporates remaining water on dishes using thermal energy.
- When the door is opened, vapor escapes from the dishwasher through a convection effect and helps dry the dishes. A fan is working to decrease the temperature and humidity, so the kitchen countertop doesn't get damaged.
- Keeping the dishwasher door open has the same effect as stacking plates on a dish rack.

To disable Autorelease door, please perform the following:
Press the Sanitize button until A1 or A0 is displayed. A0 disables Autorelease while A1 activates it. Then press the Delay Start button to select either A0 or A1.
