Mold in Dishwasher

PROBLEM:

 Mold in Dishwasher

SOLUTION:

Don't leave dirty dishes in the dishwasher for a long time.

Run a rinse cycle to remove most of the food particles if you do not plan to wash items immediately.

Leave the door slightly open when the dishwasher is not in use to allow air circulation.

Run an empty cleaning cycle using detergent and select Sanitize option for increased water temperature.

After the cycle, leave the door slightly open. Use chlorine-based detergent for better results against odors, mold, and mildew.

Occasionally clean the interior of the tub and door with a wet cloth; clean filters at the bottom of the tub if applicable.

Check the sink connected to the dishwasher if there's still a mild odor; consider clearing the garbage disposal if needed.
