PROBLEM 1:

Electrical Requirements

SOLUTION 1:

To prevent unnecessary risk of fire, electrical shock, or personal injury, your dishwasher MUST meet these requirements:

• Be wired and grounded in accordance with the National Electrical Code ANSI/FNPA, No. 70.
• Meet all local codes, revisions, and ordinances.
• Be connected to a 120 Volt 60 Hz 15 AMP fuse or circuit breaker.
• Have an individual branch circuit that isn't connected to anything.
• NEVER be connected to an extension cord.

Samsung also strongly recommends that you have your dishwasher installed by a qualified installer.

PROBLEM 2:

Grounding The Dishwasher

SOLUTION 1:

Your dishwasher must be grounded. If your dishwasher malfunctions or breaks down, grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing a path of least resistance for the electric current.

• If your dishwasher is permanently connected, you must connect it to a grounded metal, permanent wiring system.
  
  
• Or, you must run an equipment-grounding conductor with the circuit conductors, and then connect it to the equipment-grounding terminal or lead on the appliance.

Important: Never connect the ground wire to plastic plumbing lines, gas lines, or hot water pipes.

PROBLEM 3:

Connecting The Power Supply

SOLUTION 1:

We recommend having a professional installer set up your dishwasher.

However, below are the steps for connecting the power supply wires to your dishwasher:

1. Make sure the power supply is off. Turn off the circuit breaker or remove the fuse from the fuse panel.

2. Remove the access panel on the bottom of the dishwasher.

3. Connect the colored power supply wires to the matching colored wires on the dishwasher.

4. Reinstall the access cover.
