Dryer Takes Too Long

PROBLEM 1:

Dryer Takes Too Long

SOLUTION 1:

Warning! A clogged vent system is a fire hazard. Samsung recommends replacing the vent system when you install your new dryer.

If your drying times are extremely long while using Sensor Dry, the most common cause is a clogged or partially clogged ventilation system.

Samsung dryers have a powerful exhaust blower motor.

Residual lint in the vent pipe may become dislodged and collect in another area of the vent system, usually at elbows, bends, or the outside vent area.

Therefore, it's very likely that there is some sort of blockage in the vent system.

To fix this issue, please perform the following:

  • Check if the exhaust vent is restricted, bent, kinked, damaged, or clogged.

Dryer Takes Too Long B

  • Make sure the dryer is installed to a ventilation duct that runs outside of the home.

Dryer Takes Too Long A

  • Remove the vent pipe at the back of the dryer, and run the dryer for a few minutes.
  • If the dryer operates normally with the vent disconnected, your vent system should be replaced.
  • Make sure the Eco Dry option is off.
    • When the Eco Dry option is activated, the dryer will run longer, but the power consumption will reduced.
    • For certain cycles, Eco Dry is on by default, so always double check before you run a cycle.
