Dryer Trips Power Breaker

PROBLEM 1: Dryer Electrical Requirements

SOLUTION 1: Electric dryers require a dedicated 30A circuit, while gas dryers need a dedicated 15A circuit.

PROBLEM 2: Dryer Trips Power Breaker

SOLUTION 2: If the dryer keeps tripping the power breaker, there might be a short circuit in the machine, which may need servicing. If wires are correctly connected, stop using the dryer and arrange for service.

AGENT ONLY-

Incorrectly connecting the equipment grounding conductor can lead to electrical shock hazards. If unsure about proper grounding, consult a qualified technician. Never alter the plug provided with the dryer; instead, have a suitable outlet installed by a licensed electrician.

For safety reasons, all wiring and grounding must follow local codes or, if absent, the National Electrical Code (ANSI/NFPA No. 70 - latest revision) for the US or Canadian Electrical Code (CSA C22.1 - latest revisions). Adequate electrical services for your dryer are your responsibility.

Gas installations must adhere to the national fuel code ANSI/Z2231 - Latest Revision (US) or CAN/CGA - B149 Installation Code - Latest Revision (Canada) and local codes and ordinances.
