The drain pump on the dishwasher continues to run

PROBLEM :

The drain pump on the dishwasher continues to run

SOLUTION :

When the drain pump of your dishwasher continuously runs, a leak is usually the cause. If the sensor detects moisture, the pump will try to perpetually drain the dishwasher. You can fix this by looking for error codes, or checking for leaks. In rare cases, you may have to contact the installer.

If the dishwasher detects moisture, it will try to continuously drain itself, preventing the drain pump from stopping.

  1. First, do an inspection and see if you can find any actual leaks. If you do, follow our Dishwasher leaks guide to fix the issue.

  2. If you can not identify the source of a leak, refer to the error code guide or blinking light guide, depending on what the dishwasher is currently displaying. They will guide you through the next steps to clear the error.

  3. If the dishwasher has been doing this since it was installed, this indicates that there is something wrong with the dishwasher installation. We recommend contacting a professional installer because they should be familiar with your required local codes and ordinances. They should also be able to troubleshoot issues that occur from installation, like this one.

  4. You should request service if the problem continues or if the dishwasher has been doing this for a very long time.
