Question:
How can I fix a loose TV stand?
Answer:
Subject: TV stand is loose
Unless you wall mount your TV, the stand is the most important part of keeping
your new awesome Samsung TV right where you want it, safe and secure from tipping
over and damaging itself.
If your stand is loose then that's an immediate sign that something about
the installation was incorrect and it's critical that you review the installation
and confirm that you have followed the steps, precisely and in order.
Your TV comes with a Quick Setup Guide specific to your model, but here we
will cover the basics of the process.
If the stand is not installed correctly, it may lead to the TV falling, causing
damage to property or injury.
Always carefully follow the Quick Setup Guide included with your model.
The images in this article are used for example purposes and may not match
the instructions included with your model.
(1) Prepare the area.
- Most TV models will need you to lay the panel face down on a large, flat,
preferably soft surface to install the stand.
- The most common example would be a table with a blanket over it.
- Since the panel is heavy and delicate, also make sure your path from the
box to the table is clear of any obstructions so you and your partner(s) don't
trip over anything.
- Moving the TV is a two-person process. For larger and heavier TVs, it is
a four-person process.
- Pay close attention to the illustrations provided in the instruction material
with the TV.
(2) Unpack your TV.
- Make sure you unpack your TV safely, and keep it upright.
- Pay close attention to the instructions: in some cases, the box is lifted
up off of the TV, in other cases, the TV is lifted out of the box.
- Save any packing material that is in front of the panel to lay under the
panel for protection while installing the stand.
(3) Lay the panel face down.
- Most models will instruct you to lay the panel down to attach the stand.
- While carrying the panel, leave as much of the protective packaging and plastic
on it as you can and be careful not to hold the screen too tightly.
- If the panel is curved, lay it on top of the packing material it came with.
- Always insert screws in the direction shown in the instructions.
- Inserting screws from the opposite side will not sufficiently support the
TV.
(4) Gather the required stand pieces and screws and follow the instructions carefully.
- Make sure to follow the steps in the specific order that is instructed.
- In many cases, skipping ahead can cause damage to the stand or cords, or
cause the stand to be loose.
- This image is an example of one of our stands that is commonly assembled
incorrectly, with the screws inserted from the bottom instead of the top, as
shown.
- When assembled incorrectly, this stand is loose and does not adequately secure
the TV.
(5) Put the TV in the desired location.
- To complete the installation, pick up the TV and then put it down in the
desired location.
- Again, this is either a two-person or four-person job, depending on the size
and weight of your TV.
