In Europe, Australia, NZ, and Canada on February 23rd  Disney is launching Star as a content offering that will live as a "6th tile" in the D+ app.

This is covering "general entertainment" that will be made available within Disney+, will be only available to D+ subscribers, will not be an "add-on" subscription, and will not be ad-supported.

This additional content offering is what Disney is using to justify global price increases

New Pricing

Note that with the price increase, Disney is expanding their content offering with the addition of Star, adding a broader array of general entertainment films and series for consumers to enjoy.

Timing/Effective Date: February 23rd, 2021, with existing subscribers to be grandfathered for 6 months and new price in effect for them on August 23rd.
