Internet@TV

Question:

How do I set up and use Internet@TV?

Answer:

Internet@TV lets you use select Internet services, features, and functions on your TV through Yahoo! Widgets. For example, you can use the Yahoo! Weather Widget to display your local weather. Or, use a widget to display the photos in your Flickr account.

A widget is a graphical interface displayed on your TV screen that lets you access and view an Internet service. A widget does not operate like a web browser or give you access to an entire website, but instead gives you access to a selected group of functions and features from a website.

Opening Internet@TV

Before you can use Internet@TV, you must connect your TV to the Internet.

To open Internet@TV, press the Internet button on your remote or select Internet@TV in the apps menu. Alternatively, you can navigate to your TV settings menu.

The first time you open Internet@TV, you must accept the General Disclaimer terms to proceed. After you have accepted the terms, Internet@TV will update your TV. When the update is complete, your TV will display Internet@TV information.

Set the Owners PIN.

You do not need to set the Owner PIN on your television to use Internet@TV. However, setting the PIN allows you to use certain features and tools, such as limiting accounts function and other administrative tools. The PIN is not linked to any one profile. Any one who knows the PIN can access the administrative tools while logged on to any account.

  1. Select the Profile widget in the Internet@TV dock, and then press Enter to open the Profile Menu.

Note: The dock displays the name of the currently signed-in profile.

  2. In the Profile Menu, highlight Administrative Controls, and then press Enter.

  3. In the next menu, highlight Create Owner PIN, and then press Enter.

  4. Select Create Owner PIN again, and then press Enter.

  5. As prompted, enter a four-digit PIN. You can use the keypad on the remote or the directional pad to enter the PIN. After selecting your PIN, highlight OK, and then press Enter.

  6. Enter the PIN a second time to confirm the PIN number.

  7. As prompted, select a security question and answer. This is in case you forget your PIN.

  8. When finished, select Done at the bottom of the menu.

  9. Your Owner PIN is now set. Only people who know this PIN can access the administrative controls.
