SOLUTION :

To begin streaming media with Windows Media Player 11, you must confirm if you have the correct version.

  1. Open Windows Media Player and right-click on the top banner. A pop-up menu will appear.

  2. Select Help.

  3. Select About Windows Media Player to check your version.

  4. If WIMP 11 is not installed, it can be downloaded for free through Windows Updates.

Enable sharing in Windows Media Player 11

Before you can start sharing, you need to enable the feature in the media player.

  1. Open Windows Media Player.

  2. Click on Library on the top banner.

  3. Check the box that says Share my Media, and then click OK.

    Note: If the sharing service has been disabled on the computer, Windows Media Player will not continue after this point.

  4. The window will expand and show all devices on the network that accept media sharing. Select your TV, and then click Allow.

  5. After allowing the TV, click OK to close the window.

  6. The media will now be shared to the TV.

Enable media sharing on PC

If the media sharing service is disabled on the PC, then you will not be able to stream from any DLNA server. However, you will still be able to share files between computers. To enable the media sharing service on your PC, follow these steps:

  1. Open the control panel on the PC.

  2. Double-click Administrative Tools.

  3. Double-click Services.

  4. Double-click Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service.

  5. Set the Startup Type to Automatic to enable sharing.

  6. The Service Status should be set to Started.

  7. Click Apply, and then click Start. A progress bar will appear.

  8. Click OK to exit when finished.
