PROBLEM :
Connect an SD set-top-box and a standard recording device to your TV
SOLUTION :
To connect a TV, standard definition (SD) box, and recording device (VCR, DVD recorder, etc.), you need the following cables:
- Coaxial (RF) cable
- Composite A/V cable
When you have the cables and are ready to start connecting, follow these steps:
1. Connect one length of coaxial (RF) cable from the wall to the CABLE IN or SATELLITE IN on your SD Box.
2. Connect one composite video (yellow) cable and audio (red and white) cables from the AV OUT on the SD Box to the AV IN on your recording device.
3. Connect a second set of composite video (yellow) and audio (red and white) cables from the AV OUT on the recording device to the AV IN on the TV.
Note: The connection jacks will be facing down on the TV.
4. Press the button on your recording device's remote that switches between the different inputs. Do this until you have selected the AV input to which you have connected the SD box. Common names for this button are listed below.
- TV/Video: TV/AV
- Source: Game
- Input Select: Aux In
If your remote does not have one of these buttons, you may have to contact the manufacturer of your recording device to complete this step.
5. Press the SOURCE button on your TV's remote to turn the TV to AV.
Important: You must have both the set-top-box and the recording device turned on to watch TV.
