Connect an SD set-top-box and an up-conversion recording device to your TV

Problem 1:

Connecting an SD Set-Top-Box and Up-Conversion Recording Device to Your TV

Solution 1:

To connect your TV, SD set-top-box, and recording device (e.g., VCR, DVD Recorder), gather the necessary cables:

HDMI Cable

Coaxial Cable

Composite Cable

Now, follow these steps:

Use a coaxial RF cable to connect the wall outlet to the CABLE IN or SATELLITE IN port on your SD box.

Connect composite video (yellow) and audio (red and white) cables from the AV OUT port on your SD box to the AV IN port on your recording device.

Use an HDMI cable to connect the HDMI OUT port on your recording device to the HDMI IN port on your TV.

On your remote control, find the button that lets you switch between input sources. Common names include:

TV/Video

Source

Input Select

Press this button to select the AV input where the SD box is connected. If you're having trouble finding the right button, consult your recording device's manual or contact its manufacturer for assistance.

Finally, use the SOURCE button on your TV remote to change the TV's input to HDMI. Remember, you'll need to have both the set-top-box and recording device turned on to watch TV.
