PROBLEM 1:
Connect an SD set-top-box and an up-conversion recording device to your TV
SOLUTION 1
To connect a TV, standard definition (SD) box, and recording device (VCR, DVD recorder, etc.), you need the following required cables:
- HDMI cable
- Coaxial cable
- Composite cable
When you have got the correct cables and are ready to start, follow these steps:
1. Connect one length of coaxial RF cable from the wall to the CABLE IN or SATELLITE IN on your SD Box.
2. Connect a set of composite video (yellow) and audio (red and white) cables from the AV OUT on the SD box to the AV IN on your recording device.
3. Connect the HDMI cable from the HDMI OUT on the recording device to the HDMI IN on the TV.
4. Press the button on the remote that switches between the different inputs. Common names for this button are listed below.
- TV/Video: TV/AV
- Source: Game
- Input Select: Aux In
Note: If your remote does not have one of these buttons, you may have to contact the manufacturer of your recording device to complete this step. Once you have found this button, press it until you have selected the AV input where the SD box is connected.
5. Press the SOURCE button on your TV remote to turn the TV to the HDMI input.
Note: You must have the set top box and the recording device turned on to watch TV.
