Web browser shuts down when using YouTube on Samsung TV

Question:

Why does my web browser shut down when using YouTube on my Samsung TV?

Answer:

Your web browser might be shutting down when using YouTube on your Samsung TV because there's not enough memory available for web browsing. TVs usually allocate a limited amount of memory for this function, so if you try to play a movie or video clip from YouTube, your web browser might stop working.

To solve this problem, we'd need to increase the memory allocation for web browsing. But, since changing the TV's memory structure is likely related to its firmware (which is controlled by the manufacturer), we won't be able to release a firmware update specifically for this issue. Instead, we recommend using the YouTube app in your TV's Smart Hub.

Terms:

Firmware - Special software that helps control how your TV works.

Manufacturer - The company that makes your TV.

Smart Hub - A feature on your Samsung TV that lets you access different apps like YouTube.
