RS 232 Codes on TVs

SOLUTION :

Installers may contact Samsung inquiring about RS-232 (Recommended Standard 232) controls. RS-232 control allows an external control system (PC, Crestron Remote system, etc) to connect directly to the TV in order to send commands (Like Power On, Power Off, Vol, Source, Channel, etc.). Samsung TVs can accept RS-232 commands through the EX-Link connection on the TV.

Samsung cannot offer phone support for these types of installations.

Important: Some connections are for Service Only. If the TV manual lists that the EX-Link port is for Service Only, then RS-232 commands cannot be used. Depending on the model, some additional settings may need to be changed in the service menu. This should only be done by a professional installer.
