Turn on Closed Captions on the TV

PROBLEM 1:

Turn on Closed Captions on the TV

SOLUTION 1

The Caption function is used for closed captions on the TV. Closed captioning will display a transcription of the audio portion of a program as it occurs (either verbatim or in edited form). It will sometimes include non-speech elements.

Important:

  • This function is only available when you are on the TV (Coax) or AV source. HDMI, Component, and PC inputs do not carry the closed caption signal. If you are using HDMI, Component, or PC inputs, you will need to activate closed captioning on your external device.

  • Not all channels carry a closed caption feed. If the feature is turned on and there are no closed captions, then the program may not be carrying a closed caption broadcast.

To active the closed captions:

  1. From the Main Menu, select Support.

  2. Select Caption, and then press ENTER.

Note: If the Caption option is grayed out, then you are using a source that does not carry the closed caption signal (HDMI, Component, PC). Please turn on closed captions on your external device.

  3. Use the directional buttons to select ON or OFF, and then press ENTER.

  4. Press < strong>EXIT to leave the Main Menu.
