PROBLEM :

Connect a device to the universal remote

SOLUTION :

Before you begin, please be aware that the desired external device must be set up and connected to the TV. You may also need the device model number.

To set up the universal remote, please perform the following steps:

1. Press the Home button on the remote, select Source, and then select Universal Remote.
   
   
2. Select New Device to begin.
   
   
3. Select the device type, such as Home Theater.
   
   
4. Select the brand of your device.
   
   Note: If your brand is not available, press Return to exit the setup. Your device may be supported with future updates.
   
   
5. Select the source the port is connected to.
   
   
6. Select Power Test to see if the remote can control the connected device.
   
   
• If the device turns off, select Yes, and then proceed with the next step.
  
  
• If the device does not turn off, select No to try again.
  
  
7. The setup is now complete. You can select from the following additional options:
   
   
• Done: Exits the setup screen.
  
  
• New Setup: Begins the setup process from the beginning and allows you to add another device.

Important: If you are setting up a cable box, there may be additional steps where you need to enter your zip code or other information.
