PROBLEM :
Test your remote control and remote sensor
SOLUTION :
If your remote is not working correctly, you can test it and the remote sensor on your TV using the following tests:
Test with a digital camera
You can test the remote with a digital camera (including camera phones).
- Turn on your camera.
- Aim the remote at the lens of the camera from about 6-10 inches away.
- Press any button on the remote.
- If the remote is working properly, you will see the IR (infrared) sensor of the remote flashing on the LCD screen of your camera.
- If the remote is not working properly, you will not see the IR sensor. The remote sensor on the TV will need service, or the remote itself will need to be replaced. When contacting service for the TV, please have the model and serial number of your TV.
Test with a second remote
If you have another remote that is known to work on this TV, such as a cable or satellite box remote, you can test that remote with the TV.
- Make sure that the second remote is in TV mode.
- Press the Power button on the remote and check if it turns on the TV.
- If the TV does not turn on, the remote sensor on the TV will need service. When contacting service for the TV, please have the model and serial number of your TV.
