Problem:
Understanding Media Play Functions on a Television
Solution:
Identify the version of Media Play installed
on your TV: There are two versions - Media Play and Media Play (Movie). Check
which one your TV has to know what features you can access.
Connect a compatible USB device: Attach a USB
device with compatible files to the USB port on your TV. Ensure the USB device
meets the required specifications.
Check file formats for compatibility: Different
file formats work with Media Play depending on the media type. For example,
picture files must be in JPEG format and audio files must be in MP3 format.
Refer to the detailed list provided for specific requirements.
Organize folders and filenames properly: Folders
and filenames must follow certain rules like containing only alphanumeric characters
and having names in English, French, or Spanish.
Handle Unsupported Files: In case of unsupported
or corrupt files, you'll see a "Not Supported File Format" message.
Follow USB Requirements: Use only USB Mass
Storage Class (MSC) devices and ensure the file system on your USB device is
either FAT16, FAT32, or NTFS. Note that MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) is not
supported.
Be cautious when handling external devices:
Always backup your files before connecting a device to the TV, avoid removing
a USB device while it's loading, and ensure your USB device doesn't exceed 1.5
amperes.
Understand Limitations: Some USB digital cameras,
audio devices, and PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol) devices might not be compatible
with your TV. Also, note that Media Play may not recognize USB devices with
their own driver CDs.
