The melody does not play when you turn the TV off for one of the following reasons:

  • The TV built-in speakers are not selected

  • The volume is turned all of the way down or is muted

To determine which troubleshooting path to take, turn the TV on, and then press Volume Up button on the TV remote. You will see either:

  • A "Not Available" message on the TV screen

  • The volume circle on the TV screen

Instructions for each scenario are below. Review the description that matches your situation.

PROBLEM 1:

Not Available message when adjusting melody volume

SOLUTION 1:

If you see a Not Available message, you have the TV speakers set to an external speaker. To return audio to the television internal speakers, follow these steps:

  1. With the TV on, press Menu, and then press the Down arrow to highlight the Sound Menu.

Note: The Sub-Menu name is displayed on the left side of the menu.

  2. Press Enter, and then press the Down arrow to highlight Sound Output.

  3. Press Enter. A box will appear with options for "TV Speaker" and "External Speaker."

  4. Press the Down arrow to highlight TV Speaker, and then press Enter.

  5. Press Exit to exit the menu.

  6. Press Power to turn the TV off and check for the melody.

PROBLEM 2:

Volume circle is on the screen

SOLUTION 2:

If you see the volume circle on the TV screen, you have the volume turned all the way down or muted. To turn the volume up, follow these steps:

  1. With the TV on, press the Volume up buttons so the volume level is higher than zero (0).

  2. Press Power on the TV remote to turn the TV off. The Off Melody will play.

  3. If the melody does not play, perform a factory reset on the TV.
