of symptom Affected Models: Y21/22 Q70 and above models (models which support
VRR) Question: How can we solve the issue of screen flickering
and afterimage effects when using Y21/22 Q70 and above models with PlayStation
5?   Answer: Symptom: The screen flickers while playing games on
PlayStation 5, especially if the game background is bright enough - e.g.
snowy weather conditions that appear brighter than the rest of the screen
Observed in the following games: God of
war: Ragnarok/Spiderman After ending the game and changing the source
to a different one, the game screen remains as a burnt image (image sticking
or afterimage effect). With time, the afterimage disappears.
Background/Cause: Some games have a special VRR mode applied.
Those games may change the FPS (frames per second) significantly (70Hz <-> 119Hz),
which happens immediately, not step by step. If the data signal changes too quickly
and that happens regularly in certain games, the DC residue inside the panel
liquid crystal has a cumulative effect, which means that the DC residue may
produce some flickering and contour afterimage. This is normal and it does
not indicate that the TV is defective.    Solution:
To improve the gaming experience of the
user, the issue will be resolved through a Software update on PS5 devices.
PlayStation 5 will release the improved
Software version in Spring of 2023Until then, please guide the customer
to use the graphics mode as a performance mode in the in-game settings (or
to turn off the VRR in the PlayStation 5 settings as an alternative temporary
    solution).    Please, do not create
SO for such cases and educate the customer instead.    |
