Why does my device show a Home icon on the screen after a software update and how can I fix it?

Answer:

Symptom:

Device stops with Home icon on screen on OSD after SW update

Background:

The issue is related to SW modifications released in 150X.X version (for Y22 model).

These are sw updates conducted in June and July, 2023.

Check if the following SW image is installed on the customer's Device:

• (TV) T-OSCPBXXXX-150X.X / T-OSCSBXXXX-150X.X / T-PTMXXXX-150X.X / T-PTMLXXXX-150X.X / T-NKLBXXXX-150X.X / T-KSU2EBXXXX-150X.X / T-X22UDXXXX-150.X
• (Monitor)  T-OSCPBWWC-150X.X/T-NKLBWWC-150X.X/T-PTMLWWC-150X.X
• (Freestyle) T-KSU2EPWWC-1503.8

Solution:

This update includes Y23 HOME UI style backporting.

During this backporting update, new packages are being installed, and this house-shaped OSD is visible during the installation process.

Please, explain to the customer that this is in the process of updating the new function and guide them to wait until the installation is complete.

Depending on the device, it may take up to 5 minutes (maximum).

• The Home Icon disappears after 80-100 seconds. Adter that, it will be a black screen, but please wait for 5 minutes

If you turn off the device after 5 minutes, you can use the device without any problems

If this fails, please proceed with a Flash Reset, which will re-initialize the package installation.

1. Turn on the device
2. Press and hold panel power key for 5 sec
3. Press and hold remote power key for 5 sec
4. Several reboots will occur automatically. Please wait for up to 5 minutes
