Question

Dishwasher door does not stay all the way open OR Dishwasher door feels heavier and falls when release.

Answer

    1) Dishwasher door does not stay all the way open:

  • If the customer is complaining that the door doesn't stay all the way down and lifts up slightly (by 1-5 inches) when released, please note that this is normal, unless the bottom rack is pulled out, which holds the door down, the door will tend to lift up by 1-5 inches, see picture A. With both springs pulling the door up, the door will lift up slightly, which is normal, the springs acts as counter weights and are meant to reduce the weight of the door.

 A. NORMAL: Door doesn't stay down flat

2)  Dishwasher door feels heavier and falls when release:

  • If the customer is complaining that the door feels heavier, falls down if not held and stays down, this mean it's an issue with the springs or ropes holding the door.

Please book a service call.

B.  BROKEN: Spring/Rope is broken; door stays down flat

C.  Counter weight spring/rope mechanism:
